Title: Red Fox in Southern Scarborough
Post by: Bluffs Birder on February 04, 2008, 08:22:23 PM
Travelling Eastward on Kingston Road at 12:30am this morning I spotted a RED FOX crossing the street and heading Northward on Birchcliff Avenue.  I would imagine he was probably in search of food.  Wow!, my second RED FOX sighting in a week, the other was spotted a couple of miles to the East along the top of the Scarborough Bluffs.  I wonder if these critters are going to become as problematic as raccoons and skunks, I guess time will tell.

FYI - Birchcliff Avenue is just West of the Birchmount Road and Kingston Road intersection and just North of the Scarborough Bluffs.

I have probably seen the fox you are talking about. I am a little concerned as it (if it is the same one) is denning quite near the side of the Kingston Road. I hope it stays safe, but am keeping my eyes open, as I am fairly certain it has kits as I saw it bring food back to the den.

At various different locations,  I have had the pleasure of seeing foxes in and around Bluffers park. Very beautiful.
