Haven't seen too much info about either of these lately but was wondering if anyone has been to either recently. I am planning to go to Wolfe Island next weekend, because from what I've read, the birds are better there this winter than Amherst. I've been to Amherst a couple times before, but never to Wolfe. Is Wolfe all about driving along the roads and looking for birds, or are there wooded areas to walk through as well? I love walking so that would be a plus.
Any tips and suggestions for Wolfe Island? Is there somewhere to get a sandwich at lunch or a hot chocolate?
Thanks!

As far as owl's and hawks, wolfe island wins this year for sure. I always love going to Amherst island but the vole population their this year is almost non-existent. So for snowies; short eared; rough-legged hawks; kestrels; red-tailed, and even the occasional bald eagle wolfe island is the spot this year. I am pretty sure the small general store is open so getting s snack won't be a problem. Most of the land on wolfe is private so its mainly driving and looking for raptors/owls. Not sure if there are any areas to walk, I am sure someone else wil post back here.
