Title: Jamaica Bird ID
Post by: Dinusaur on February 20, 2015, 08:36:37 PM
Recently I visited Runaway Bay in Jamaica and managed to photograph some of the birds seen in the surrounding areas. Altogether I saw 22 different species of birds there; though I expected more given the presence of lush green vegetation all around. I need some help in confirming the IDs of the following. Thanks in advance.

1. Little Blue Heron?

2. Royal Terns?

1 through 4 look correct. 10 and 11 look like an American Redstart. The ibis is tough with the light.

7-8 Looks correct
9 Female Doctor Bird, I think, due to the long bill.

5 & 6- Female Jamaican Becard
9 - female Doctor Bird, down turned bill, Vervain is straighter and shorter than Doctor Bird.
