Title: Long-eared/Short-eared Owls TTP
Post by: noam markus on March 08, 2015, 09:11:01 PM
A late visit to Tommy Thompson Park showed two terrific owl sightings.
The Long-eared Owl was close to the road, low to the ground, behind the trunk of a tree, perfectly camouflaged and absolutely still.
Probably would have missed it if not for all the other birders and photographers (Thank you for pointing it out!).

The Short-eared Owl was perched high on a tree and showed up as I was leaving the park at 6:30PM.
