I'm not sure if I have the right section....I've always had trouble uploading photos here....I tried today and found it was or appeared like it would be very simple...but my photos are apparently too big...can someone tell me how to make my pix smaller ? Is it too late to make them smaller once they are on my computer ? I'm sure some of you are chuckling however, please keep in mind I was born with two left hands and I'm not very smart.

I'm going to assume you are using jpeg files.
You'll need a software program to resize your photos. Photo editing software like Photoshop have that feature built in. There are a number of them available, some you pay for and some are free. If you download one of these programs then you can also do some basic editing like sharpening, colour adjustment or fiddling with exposure.
I use Lightroom to edit and resize most of my work. However I also use a freebie called Image Analyzer for some stuff.
However if all you want to do is resize and you are using Windows then you can use Paint. Its usually preloaded on your computer.

If you put the pictures on Flickr then you can easily "share the photo" where you choose from various sizes and generate the html to copy into this board.

I don't use Flickr so I was unaware of that feature.
However, I prefer not to upload full size photos because practically any image you upload can be downloaded by someone else and used/printed without your permission.
For this reason I do not upload any image larger than 800 pixels on the long side. This is large enough for viewing on a computer screen and at least puts some limit on how it can be used or how large it can be printed, not that any of my photos are Nat Geo quality!

I too find the easiest way is to use Microsoft Paint for resizing, it's free and is standard on every PC to my knowledge. Assuming you're using a PC with a Micosoft OS. Resizing photos means you won't have to pay money to share them on the internet as well! I have thousands of photos on Picasa and I'm only using 0.08% of my allotted space!

That's a good point Walter!
I just edited a full size jpeg from a 12mp camera.
Full size 4288pixels on the long side, file size 1.3mb. Reduced to 800 pixels on the long side, file size 56kb.

I'm using an iMac....and the pix are in iPhoto....

I'm new to this forum. Is there an instruction on how to load photos? My JPG is 97.2 kb but doesn't seem to want to load.

As pointed out in the posts above, try reducing the size of the image.
