Title: Snake ID help
Post by: JW Mills on April 19, 2015, 08:33:06 PM
We found this snake at the Spit on Saturday mingling with some Common Gartersnakes. After checking the ROM's Reptiles and Amphibians of Toronto booklet I believe it is a melanistic Gartersnake.
Any ID help would be appreciated.

Hey John,

Great shot!  Yes, you are correct with melanistic Gartersnake.  The Spit is full of them.

Walter :)

LOL....I had a Masaii guide kill one as it crossed our path while on a mountain trail in Kenya. They are very deadly.
