A trip to East Point on Monday proved successful, the midges were out in full force as were the Barn Swallows flying about in the hundreds in a feeding frenzy. Tired of all the flying they would occasionally rest in groups while equal amounts of birds remained in the skies above.

What a sight - beautiful composition.

Interesting to see the variation in the amount of rust colour underneath. Could the lighter coloured ones be younger birds, as juveniles are white underneath?

I think in general the females are lighter underneath but there's a lot of variation.
