Title: Warbler ID Wet Woods
Post by: noam markus on May 03, 2015, 05:08:47 PM
Today at the Wet Woods. Not a Kinglet, not a Warbling Vireo. I'm thinking female Pine Warbler. Any thoughts?

Looks like Ruby-crowned Kinglet to me.

I'm also leaning toward female Pine Warbler, perhaps not yet in full adult breeding plumage.  It has the eye-ring broken with the faint eye stripe, brownish back with some modest white wing bars.

That's a tricky one.  I think it's a female Pine Warbler: very drab - maybe a first year bird.  It appears to have a yellow tinge on top of the head, and the bill looks too big for a kinglet.
