Title: Kentucky Warbler @ Col. Sam Smith today
Post by: nana on May 09, 2015, 06:22:35 PM
The Kentucky Warbler was still working its way back and forth along the sides of the creek when I left at 5:15 ish.
Two Swainson's Thrush there as well. In the dogwoods across the playing field - Wilson's, Am. Redstart, Magnolia, Common Yellow-throat, Nashville, Chestnut-sided, Yellow,  Yellow Rumped, Palm, Black-throated Blue, Ovenbird and Lincoln's Sparrows
Near the creek path towards the parking lot 2 Orchard Orioles, catbirds and a Thrasher.

Still time before dark to get there for a look at the beautiful Kentucky Warbler in full colour. Apparently an adult male.

For anyone interested in this rare visitor, the Kentucky Warbler is still there this morning working along the little creek just N of the last parking lot, behind the power station. Sam Smith Park is at the very end of Kipling Avenue. It is a 2 minute walk from the parking lot to the creek and there is a small bridge with a good vantage point. Perhaps someone with a photo could add it to this thread?
