Went today for a hike at Leslie Spit since such a nice day and glad i did :)
Saw 3 Northern Saw-whet Owls, must be migration time for them, also saw Barred and Great Horned Owls.
Other notable birds included a flyover calling Pine Grosbeak, 2 American Pipits, Horned Larks, 2 flocks of Common Redpolls, Northern Mockingbird, Northern Flicker plus the usual chickadees and tree sparrows.
A lot of the bays are frozen over so open water is at a premium. Therefore could get good looks at many types of ducks close up including White-winged Scoters and all 3 Mergansers.
Heres a photo of 1 of the Saw-whet Owls with a mouse keeping for later
