Title: Unknown Geese on Toronto Islands
Post by: Neev on May 18, 2015, 11:33:42 PM
I saw a pair of geese on the Islands today (at first I thought they were swans) and I need help identifying them.. Unfortunately I couldn't take a photo as I was kayaking when I saw them.

They were mostly white with brown uppers and a brown line down the back of their necks. I've done some research and they look like either Swan Geese (anser cygnoides) or maybe Greater White Fronted Geese. They had a lot of white on them. Unfortunately I can't remember what color their bills were.

Just wondering if anyone else has seen this pair of geese out there?

Thank you!

Probably domestic Swan Goose. There's a bunch of domestic geese around Centerville.
