After an unsuccessful stakeout of Whimbrel at Colonel Sam Smith on Saturday morning, I headed out to Presqu'ile Provincial Park on reading a report about Red Knots, Whimbrel and other shorebird invasion at the park Sunday morning. During my 4 hour stay at the park I didn't see any Red Knots; however, Whimbrels were there and so were hundreds of Dunlins, Semipalmated Plovers, Semipalmated Sandpiper, Least Sandpiper; a few Bonaparte's Gull, Caspian Terns, Spotted Sandpiper, Ruddy Turnstone. It was certainly a bonanza for shorebird watching at the park despite chilly morning. Here are some photos taken during my stay there. Whimbrel is a lifer for me. It was worth the visit.

Awesome shots! I was there for the invasion and it was insane! 10-15,000 Dunlin and 50 Red Knots! It wasn't like anything I had ever experienced. You seemed to capture the moment well.
