Title: Blue Grosbeak or Indigo Bunting?
Post by: cairnstone on June 10, 2015, 03:16:09 AM
I just went through dozens of photos I took at my feeders a year ago. I had Indigo Buntings galore. But this one is different. Is it a Blue Grosbeak? I have many photos of it.

It is an immature Indigo Bunting molting into adult plumage. Blue Grosbeak should have distinct wide wing bars.

Sorry for the confusion.  I should stick to diagnostic traits rather than overall impression.
