We've had a good year watching adults feeding their young in our yard.
So far we've seen Red-breasted Nuthatches,White-breasted Nuthatches, Hairies, Downies, Robins, Grackles, House Finches and of course, House Sparrows being fed.
-
Wow, what a collection. Great to watch them as they grow.
-
Yes, it's quite something to watch!
We now have young Red-wings, Blue Jays and Orioles as well.
-
Ok, so all I have is a bunch of baby house sparrows and one cardinal (at least it's not a cowbird!) but the young hummers are starting to show up so I'm happy! :D
-
We got hammered with baby Starlings this year. A few House Sparrows, one got shredded by a Grackle right in front of. A good number of baby Jays. A few Cowbirds, Robins and Cardinals too. A couple young Orioles were here yesterday.
-
We now have 3 young American Goldfinches being fed by the old man.
-
My last nest fledged a couple of days ago -- house wrens...second nest for them this year.
On August 6th we saw down covered baby ducks in Tobermory (actually on Flower Pot Island).
-
More young-uns to add to our list, Northern Flicker and Cardinal.
The young Cardinal is at the feeder eating and doing the wing flapping thing while the old man watches from the bushes.
-
take care of them.
