Title: Northern Mockingbird in Downsview
Post by: Dinusaur on July 12, 2015, 09:22:45 PM
It was a nice surprise today when I saw a Northern Mockingbird in Downsview. The bird was close to the railway track. As I was positioning myself for a better picture it flew away and couldn't find it anymore. Coincidentally today's Toronto Star published an article on Northern Mockingbird just when  Harper Lee's sequel to 'To Kill a Mockingbird' is about to be released. The Star reporter has been unsuccessful so far in finding a Mockingbird in the GTA.  Last time I saw a Mockingbird in Downsview was back in early April. I hope this is one of the resident birds. Also, saw a pair of Least Sandpipers at water's edge.

We have a Mocker in our Loblaws parking lot at Scarlett and Dundas.  I see/hear him every week I go there.

Some visits to Downsview have had me see only a Mockingbird...  just sayin'
