a friend was at pelee island on july 29 2015 and took this pic....please help identify the big dark ones -- picture not great

It's hard to make out much detail, but the large dark ones appear to be juvenile Herring Gulls and the smaller ones are Ring-billed. There may be some other species there as well, but I'm really just basing the ID on the general shape and colour of the closest ones.
