Title: little dark bird?

I didn't have my phone/ camera with me so I will do my best to describe it. It was downtown London after a storm. A little bird that was small like a sparrow was on the dirt, looked like it was sleeping. dark gray on back, slightly lighter on front, no real bars on wings. I was completely gray. I thought it could be a flycatcher or phoebe but can't find it in any field guides.

Any ideas

Juvenile Brown-headed Cowbird maybe?

Dark-eyed Junco maybe? I have attached a pic of one that just came to my yard.
