First thing I am gonna say is I am terrible when it comes to identifying sparrows other than white crowned, white throated, chirpies etc.. there are so many
minute variations.
The white marking on the back of this bird is confusing me. There were two birds, one appeared to have a white or yellow stripe throught the middle of its
head along with the yellowish markings.. I Was just heading home with my son when I spotted this little and I emphasize little guy. Sky clouding over made
shooting a little diifficult. Water levels changed significantly in the last few days due to rain and was really sloppy. I was thinking Savanah Sparrow :?: any help
would be appreciated Napper
tonight at 7:00 pm.

You have it right! That's a Savannah Sparrow. The yellow on the face is diagnostic. The yellow on some individuals is much less obvious which makes those ones a bit trickier.

thankyou for the help
I have been busy with a little renovation project the last few days and haven't had time to answer pm's or respond to my answered posts.
I did go back a day or so later and got a much better image proper lighting etc... In the same area... I won't have much of a chance to do anything in the next few weeks/months as 'Silly season' has started. Silly because of all of the sports myself and my children are taking part in this summer. Even more interesting is trying to fit all of this in with my wifes hectic shiftwork schedule, with one vehicle....
