I was quite surprised to find this Blanding's Turtle in the Humber Marshes today.

I've never noticed one there before. I`ll be keeping a eye out for them in the future!
There were some Mute Swans nearby. I suspect one of them was using this log before the turtle. :wink:

Great find!
I've only seen one and that was at the Spit.

I think I will start applying my birding rule, "check it out even when you think you know, " to turtles as well!
