Title: Why such an intense fight now?
Post by: Dinusaur on September 16, 2015, 06:52:55 PM
Last several weeks I noticed a lot of aggressiveness among Canada Geese resting on a local pond on their way to migration. This might be a common phenomenon in Spring time; however, why now? Here's a photo of two Geese going after each other's throat in a very violent display that lasted close to 5 minutes. While the two fought 50 or so Geese around the fighting duo kept on honking - might be a sign of distress or they were just encouraging these two to keep on fighting.
