There were 4 today feeding in the centre of Gull island at Presqu'ile away from the shoreline.

Same appreciation for the beauties and the same question about the water level. On Sept 8 when I went to Presqu'ile the water level seemed high. Is it now possible to walk to the Island?

Yes it is walkable for sure, highest point for water was a little above my knees. I am 6 feet tall, if its not really windy it is a good to go, with strong winds I would pass.

If go out to Gull Island you may still find some American Golden Plovers; Black Bellied plovers; Whimbrel; Buff-breasted sandpiper but this is maybe as at some point they will continue there journey south.

Thanks Paul, do I need hip waders?

Wow those are some amazing close-up shots.  This is one of my favourite shorebirds due to its colour and dove-like mannerisms.

You don't have to use them, water is a little cool so just bring an extra pair of sneakers or even wear some of those poolside slips etc and cary a dry pair in a backpack to put on over there.
