Title: White-winged Scoter
Post by: moratorian on March 14, 2008, 02:42:31 PM
I was down at the Credit River this afternoon (Fri. Mar. 14) and was quite surprised to see a couple (male and female) of White-winged Scoters hanging around the River near the Lakeshore bridge. My experience with these birds has been trying to observe them way off shore on the lake. Also observed a couple of male and one female Common Merganser.

I saw a scoter this a.m. on the lake about2 km east of the credit river...near the mouth of cooksville creek...along with some common mergansers, red breasted mergansers and old squaws...sorry...pointy tails...no...sharp tails...what are they called again? I can't get enough of these ones...its been a first for me...I gotta get out more.
