Title: Is this a Field Sparrow?

I was expecting a juvenile white-crowned when I took this photo but I think this might be a Field Sparrow as it's very buffy on the underside etc. Is it one?

Yes, Field Sparrow. The eye ring is also a good field mark.

This Field sparrow was in an apple tree. Nearby a Tree Sparrow was on the grass. I sometimes wonder who named these birds.

I'll look for the eye ring the next time I see one of these buffy ones. Good tip!
