Title: Snow Geese
Post by: Brian Bailey on November 10, 2015, 12:40:26 PM
I don't know how many people here typically visit the OFO photo galleries (http://ofo.ca/site/page/view/photo.photomainpage), but there is one stunning image already in this month's gallery: (http://ofo.ca/ofo-gallery/5cdff4b59d5f5fea943cd66803918119)
It almost looks like abstract art!

See if you can find a Ross's Goose in there!

Yes, an amazing image. I saw this on another site. Mr. Beck estimated 80,000 birds in one field!

Judging from the picture I think that's an underestimate. I would estimate 100 birds across and 100 birds vertically in one plane. Depth is harder to estimate, but it's hard to imagine it's less than 10 birds. That would make at least 100,000 birds just in that picture, which clearly doesn't show all the birds present.
