Title: Sandhill Cranes in Keswick
Post by: Dinusaur on November 29, 2015, 03:59:14 PM
On Saturday it was reported on eBird that two Sandhill Cranes were seen on a farmer's field on the north side of Ravenshoe road in Keswick. I have been hoping to see one nearby for a while. As soon as I saw this report I set off for the reported location. I arrived there around 2:15 and there it was - a pair in the field- far away from the road; however easily recognizable. After a while they took off away from me and turned around to come close to where I was standing and provided me a reasonably close photography of this beautiful pair. It was a lifer for me. I watched them flew over Ravenshoe road and landing on another field on the south. There has been a report of a few large flocks migrating on Sunday.
