It's been a sluggish year around here for winter finches. In fact, until today I had none. A pair of Pine Siskins made an appearance this morning. I am accustomed to them showing up at this time of year in a large bickering flock. Just a quiet pair stopping by for a nibble so far this winter. As it is with Pine Siskins, they are probably already gone. I am not holding my breath for redpolls any time soon.
