Title: Ruddy ducks in High Park?

This morning we saw a pair of unusual ducks on the far side of Grenadier Pond... at least they were new to me. Very stiff upright tails, teal-sized, colours through a long lens were in line with the field guides. Fun to watch with lots of preening and tail-cocking. Also saw a pair of mocking-birds on the south side of the pond. Anyone else see these ducks who has more field experience? Am I correct on the ID? [I have a photo but don't now how to post it here!]

To verify ID you can go to the University of Cornell Orinthology website http://www.birds.cornell.edu/AllAboutBi ... yingBirds/ (http://www.birds.cornell.edu/AllAboutBirds/Birding123/IdentifyingBirds/)       and  pull up ruddy Duck they will have pictures & info to compare

No sign of them today but I'm confident that they were 2 ruddy ducks not yet in breeding plumage, after comparing my photo's to those on-line above [Thanks!] nIamges are now posted, see my next post.

Let me know if you think I've got this I.D. wrong, thanks. I've now clipped the "Ruddy Ducks" image into a gallery called Park Stroll's shots under Photo Gallery on this BBB, just FYI. It's not a great photo since they were on the far side of the pond,  but I've now posted a couple of other images there that are OK of other park denizens!
