Some obvious Hot Spots are missing, like Point Pelee and Long Point...

For sure, they may have been selected based on someone doing a review on those areas.

That looks like a strange and very incomplete list. I'll stick with the eBird hotspots map. There's a lot more markers to look at, but you can tell what's truly "hot"  by the colour of the marker.
