Title: Raven?

I was at Bronte Creek Prov Park's campground entrance this morning when two of these birds began circling (mostly in the sun) one of the open areas. Their calls were not at all like a Crow's which is why I looked up at them. Given their odd call and this shape, I'm guessing they might have been Ravens?

Yup, Raven. You can tell by the wedge shaped tail.
Also their sound is a croak rather than a caw.

Thanks! The two birds eventually flew towards the northwest part of the park.

Seeing Ravens over my neighbourhood (Toronto's east end/Kingston Rd and Midland Ave area) is getting to be somewhat of a common occurance lately.  This morning I had one fly low over the backyard cawing away to it's partner who could be heard a little further off in the distance.  So nice to see and to hear.

Hey Walter,

There has been ravens nesting in Rouge National Urban Park for the last three years, Woodlands trail.  I was leading a walk this past Saturday on Woodlands, we saw a raven patrolling a new nest site.

Hey Gary,

Thanks for the info.  Great to hear that they're still there.  I've seen/heard them several in the Rouge over the last few years.  Over the open area where the ponds are is always a good spot cuz their voices carry so far.
