Hi everyone. At 11:57am, a Great Blue Heron flew past my livingroom window (Lake Aquitaine) heading SW towards Oakville. Yippee, FOY! :D Always thrilling seeing the wide wings and long legs heading by.

Hi Jo-Anne, on Sunday around 10:30am, while out on a training run for the Mississauga Half Marathon, I saw one heading NNE at Winston Churchill and Tours Road. FOY!! it sure didn't feel like spring then, -5C, with a NNW wind at 23km per hour. It probably flew past your window.

Hi winz. Hopefully the weather/temperature is much better by then (half marathon)!
More GBH sightings:
April 1st, 11:25am, heading SW
April 5th, 7:40pm, heading NE
April 6th (this morning), 11:50am, came from the NE then landed at Lake Aquitaine!
Other stuff: walking trails from lake to plaza, a lot of black ice which is now snow covered! People skidding. Park employees are removing bicycles and shopping carts from the lake by the dock area - what a mess! So far no bbq's or cars as in past years!

It hasn't been cold enough to freeze the lake to have someone attempt to drive across  I remember skating on it years ago..

Lots of people used to skate and play hockey on the lake but not so much over the past few years.
