Title: Harlequin Duck at Col Sam Smith Park
Post by: Brian Bailey on April 01, 2016, 12:50:19 PM
It's impossible to predict how long he'll hang around, but there has been a first winter male Harlequin Duck at Sam Smith Park all week. He's been closely associating with Redheads, east of the docks all three times I have visited.

This is almost certainly the same bird that spent much of the winter at Humber Bay West, but he's generally much easier to view where he is now.

Lots of other waterfowl there as well including Red-necked, Horned and Pied-billed Grebes as well as Ring-necked Ducks, Blue-winged Teal, and White-winged Scoters.
