Title: Dark-eyed Junco -- but might it be an 'Oregon' one?
Post by: bronco on April 19, 2016, 02:03:07 PM
This Junco looks to be different in colour than the ones I'm use to seeing. I'm wondering if it might it be the subspecies 'Oregon'?
Any information will be most welcome. Thanks in advance.

Even females of the "Oregon" subspecies should have a pronounced gray (black in males) hood. I believe this is a regular Slate-coloured Junco, as they are variable and females often have more brown colours.
