I'm not sure these pictures are good enough to id. Any tips on how to tell the difference between thrushes in the field. Sorry - fixed. I thought I did it the same way as the others I posted today, but apparently not.

I think this is Swainson's thrush - buffy eye ring, moderate amount of spots, no reddish tones on wings or tail. Wood thrush is reddish brown over entire back and has dark black spots. Hermit thrush has noticeable reddish brown in wings and tail. Gray-cheeked has no buffy eye ring and also no reddish anywhere. Veery is basically the colour tones of a roasted marshmallow, including the breast spots. If you have climbed up a remote mountain at 4am somewhere in northeastern North America, it might be a Bicknell's.

Love your explanation of differences Pat - thanks for taking time to write this down. I certainly learnt a few tricks to distinguish one Thrush from another.
