Wall shelf under the eave......Robin is on the 3rd clutch......completing the new nest on Saturday July 9th
Two eggs as of this morning.......I've never had a Robin nesting this late.....will be well into August when they fledge......

They sometimes have 2 clutches but 3 is quiet an achievement.

yep......2 clutches is actually quite normal......but the last 3-bagger I observed was years ago...... 8)
It's the late start this year that has pushed this rare one to finish in August.
I have a nest-cam set up so I know it's the same pair......ID'd by their eye ring markings.
I remove the "used" nests after each clutch and she rebuilds almost immediately for the next round.
The count has been 4 chicks.....then 3......and now 3 again.....all from a single female......which really shows the high mortality rate.

Nest-Cam capture below......she struggled with the heat this past week.......only hovering over the eggs as they self incubated
She just stood there with her mouth open and that glazed-over "what have I done" parental stare......
Luckily the rain yesterday morning softened up the concrete (the lawn)
That's making it a little easier as she has to feed the 3 hatchlings as of today
