Title: Northern Harrier
Post by: Ann Brokelman on March 29, 2008, 10:53:19 PM
Visiting my daughter today so did a drive by at Thickson Woods and Halls Road.  As I drove around the corner a lovely northern harrier landed at both locations.  Here are a couple of shots.

Great photos as usual Ann - you really have a way of finding the birds!

Wow Ann!  Very nice work.  That lens is really paying off in dividends now isn't it lol.

I would suggest a few minor post corrections that would make these images REALLY pop.  A slight shadows and highlights adjustment would eliminate some of the minor highlight blowouts and really make the bird POP off the background.

A slight curves adjustment (or levels) would have a similar effect.  I can post my version of your shot if you would like to see what I mean by the adjustments.  Just let me know.

Thank you for all your comments.  It was a real thrill to see the harrier on the ground.  I have not had any luck getting shots of him in the air.  Soon I hope.  Ann
