On Hwy 9, just east of Hwy 27 as you start into the Holland Marsh over a bridge, on the south side is a roof about 15 feet long. It has been there for a couple or more years. First thought it was for a billboard, but no. There is also a couple of smaller ones up Hyw 400 going towards Barrie and have seen others around the province. Are they maybe for bats or bees or ????
Thank you in advance for any info.
Good birding.

Nesting building for Barn Swallows
-
Thanks Kevin.
Yes, great idea, as the barns in the GTA slowly disappear. At the barn where I keep my horse, the population and number of nests have increased for the last few years, so that is good. This years group look to be winding down after second batches. Nothing more delightful then listening tomthemchatter of barn swallows while grooming your horse.
At the previous barn I boarded at even had a colony of Cliff swallows, but I asked this year and there only apparently 1 or 2 nests this year, which was sad. I counted about 9 active nests about 3 years ago.
