Title: Spruce Grouse (Peyto Lake, Banff NP)

I think this might be a spruce grouse? Although I know they live in Ontario, as well as in the Rockies where this photo was taken in August, I've never seen one. Can anyone confirm it?

I think you are right. There is also Blue Grouse to consider in the Rockies (and I have seen neither of them), but the barring and the white spots on the belly point to Spruce Grouse.
