It's that time of the year when the White-throated Sparrows and other winter birds return to hunker down around the backyard. Unfortunately for them, the welcome-wagon usually shows up a few days before them. This morning, September 25, 2016. Brampton, Ontario. Cooper's Hawk.

I also have a Cooper's Hawk hanging around my backyard. I usually see it perched on top of the feeder pole. I call it the tax collector ;)
