Of the two birds on the right - the one at the back is larger & lighter coloured than the one directly below it. I am wondering if they are both Sanderlings?
As always your help is appreciated.

The back one is a Sanderling, the smaller one in front is a Semipalmated Sandpiper.

a good thing to remember with sanderlings is the "missing" hind toe...u can see that toe on the semi in your picture, which by the way is very nice

I went through my photos from the day, and yes I can clearly see, as you suggest, the 'missing' hind toe -- thanks for that, and thanks for the 'very nice'.
