Title: Thunder Bay
Post by: MikeN on October 16, 2016, 07:02:25 PM
May have a free day or part of at least in Thunder Bay in the near future. Does anyone have suggestions on a spot to go for a few hours, perhaps see something not normally in the GTA?

Thanks

I am not familiar with any locations there, but one approach is to use ebird.  Go to http://ebird.org/ebird/places and enter the place name.  Click on "bar charts" and scan down the monthly/weekly markers for what is present.  For October, there are decent chances for pine grosbeak, gray jay, boreal chickadee, lapland longspur, Am. pipit, woodpeckers, etc.  Click on the map button next to each species name to get some ideas for places where they have been reported.

Thanks

Did some of that but am also looking for some of that personal on the ground input as well. Always useful.
