"Le dog" was outside just now messing with a squirrel on the back fence
when I heard an unusual call and spotted a hawk in a tree nearby.
it sounded just like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPm3ywx1Vtw (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPm3ywx1Vtw)
When I played the youtube Vid on my computer "le dog" kinda freaked out..
Its not the usual call I've heard from a Cooper hawk, sorta more like a squeaky toy. :?:
Dug my camera up and got a few shots, was a little dark post later :)

Sounds like a mating call ... November, the guy must be confused.
On a side note - have been sighting Cooper's Hawk, Sharp-shinned Hawk and Red-tailed Hawk this month in Meadowvale. Also seeing RTH's at West and SW areas of YYZ.

Well guess who is back? Like clockwork every year a Cooper's settles in and around our area usually at the start of Oct.
This evening I had multiple sightings of a Cooper's Hawk around the area and on top of our house
It was making this sound , What? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPm3ywx1Vtw (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPm3ywx1Vtw)
It really had me looking around the exterior of the house until I saw it fly away.
It is not the sound I am used to hearing from a Cooper's Hawk seen by me in our yard.
