Title: King Eider, Tommy Thompson Park
Post by: Ed O'Connor on December 10, 2016, 04:13:32 PM
Scanning flocks of Long-tailed ducks finally paid off around 2:00 this afternoon, when I found a female King Eider off Pipit Point on the Leslie Street Spit. The bird was associating with a flock of about 15 L-T Ducks. Didn't see any Purple Sandpipers in the area, but in the East Cove, the Tundra Swan was feeding with a flock of 20 Trumpeters.
