Title: Red-winged blackbirds
Post by: Dr. John on February 27, 2017, 05:19:41 PM
Saw them yesterday and today around the Brickworks.  I think this is the earliest I've seen them but I'm guessing a few may overwinter.

I had 3 today singing away at Windermere in Hamilton. Early for sure.

There are always a few that over-winter, but the Red-winged Blackbirds are now back in greater numbers.  And there are a few Common Grackles among them, which I have never before seen in February.

Yeah we had Grackles in Milton Yesterday

I spotted one really noisy Killdeer flying around Downsview at  lunch time  today.

Does that mean its spring?
