Are you certain it wasn't a junco?

for sure chipping sparrows are starting to arrive now, but there are still a lot more juncos around, and they sing here now and it is an easy mistake to make - I really enjoy hearing the juncos singing at this particular moment of spring and want to be sure others are not missing out!  It is a good opportunity to listen to them in case you are ever birding farther north where both are present during breeding season and it is not an automatic easy ID when you hear a trill.

good question. but that day, it was a chipping sparrow.
heard it again today and, while we still have juncos, pretty sure it was a C sparrow
