I got quite a surprise walking back to my car early this afternoon at Luther Marsh when I encountered a Chukar on the path. I have never seen one before. May 9, 2017.

Alot of hunters buy them from game farms to training their hunting dogs to search for gamebirds.....every now and then one is able to elude the dogs ......and enjoy life on outside

I got a surprise because I would not have expected to see my first Chukar in a swampy/marshland sort of area.

That's a great pic! A pretty bird....
Do you mind if I tell your tale in a birding / nature column I write for a newspaper local to the Luther Marsh area.
