Title: Humming bird, Tiny Township
Post by: Napper on June 04, 2017, 11:45:12 AM
Yesterday here in Tiny township I spotted a Ruby Throated Humming bird hovering at our Lilac's trees/bushes

:) First of year for me.

Twas a beautiful day yesterday, thought I might have to build an ark last night  monsoon like rain for hours.

We/I
spent most of the last 4 weeks at our place in Tiny township.

We have many Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus) up there and they tend to flower a few weeks later there.

This past Saturday Aug 27 th we still have  Ruby Throat Humming birds visiting our Rose of Sharon's. Even with temps dropping to 9 Deg C overnight.

Friday night we had a fairly large group of "Common Nighthawks" skimming the tops of the trees.

Napper :)

p.s We have so many Rose of Sharon plants we have to give away 20 to 30 new shoots each year.

Just unpacked the vehicle here at the beach, wife and daughter took le dog down to the water to watch the approaching storm clouds.

A Humming bird just visited our Rose of Sharon bush by the driveway.

We are here to start the fall shut down process.

Early yesterday morning I spotted a group of (5) Barn Swallows  flying over the ramp at Downsview Airport.
