Title: American Snout butterfly, Mississauga
Post by: BetCrooks on July 25, 2017, 03:38:15 PM
This seems to be a good year for American visitors: Dickcissels in Milton and other parts of southern Ontario, and some southern butterflies too.

Yesterday, at the Rattray Marsh in Mississauga, I was watching an American Snout butterfly. They only come into Ontario in any numbers some summers. If you're interested, it's worth keeping an eye out this year. American and Painted Ladies and Question Marks also seem to be in good numbers. And  it's been a very good year for Monarchs at least locally.

Nice shot and a nice find as well! I have still never managed to see one.
