We are going to Vancouver for relative reunion in early October and hopefully can spend sometime for birding. Any suggestions are welcome.

There is a bird sanctuary near Richmond or that area, I think the name is Reifel or something close, that I visited years ago. LIghthouse Park is nice if you want to see some old growth trees.
Check E-bird for reports. Also if there is a BC version of Ontbirds???
NIce area to visit. Have a nice trip.

Yes, Reifel is good but far out and you need to drive. Also a driving destination is Cypress Park, there are good trails leaving near the ski area base. Stanley Park is good for in town.
BC bird reports are http://birding.bc.ca/index.php and http://birding.aba.org/maillist/BC03 though like anywhere they are more interested in the unusual and won't talk much about things common to them but still interesting to a visitor.
