Title: Mallard or Black Duck ?
Post by: Janet Tubb on August 31, 2017, 10:55:56 PM
I think 2 is a Mallard as there is white behind the blue but I'm not sure about 1 with that yellow beak. There were five of these confusing grey/brown ducks feeding in Oshawa Creek.

The top one is a male eclipse (molting) Mallard and the bottom is a female Mallard. Ducks are not very colorful at this time of year.
