Title: Uknown sparrow
Post by: Shortsighted on September 24, 2017, 10:01:26 AM
This sparrow fleetingly captured in a local park may be a Vesper Sparrow.
I'm really not sure. Could use guidance.

Can't find anything else that would fit, but the biotop looks odd for a Vesper.

Biotope is deceptive from the posted shot. The bush and tree are just an island
of shrubs in a parkette next to open field that gently slopes downward to Highland
creek. The field is all tall weeds often frequented by sparrows: Song, Savannah
and I saw a Field sparrow there once.

Then it's a better fit!
